G.K. Chesterton wrote that “the pursuit of beauty is the way to find it; that imagination is a sort of incantation that can call it up.”
We find what we pursue. An addictive thing about painting is that I can redefine a view of the world – and if only briefly, we get to live in that world together. It’s a shifting, lost-and-found kind of Truth - any definition is fragmentary and has no limits. The only limit is what I see or don’t see at the moment, and that changes. As my work evolves, I like to think that it reflects the charged rhythms, vibrations and energy – the very magic of our universe and our participation in the creative process. - MZ
