WATERMARKS

An exploration of painting as a dynamical system, Watermarks is a dialogue between the process of painting and certain concepts derived from fractal geometry and the science of chaos. The series of paintings that comprise Watermarks begins with an exploration of sensitive dependence on initial conditions, one image generating the next in the development of a dynamical system. The initial motif is a common theme from nature, the surface patterning of moving water.
